Name of Power: Force Field Control/ Manipulation

Power description: The power to control Force Fields is mainly used in defense, and it requires the use of holding your hands out and then a protective force field encases or appears in front of you. It is used to block any projectile, and can be used to encase someone else who is fighting or attempting to hurt you. The power is not used to move people, only to encase or block them and their attacks, the power also enables the controller the ability to actually walk through over Force Fields or Suck them in to themselves to give them energy. The Force Field’s created are transparent but look like water in appearance, they aren’t huge, just enough to cover the person they are defending/ keeping away. They have a little bit of an electrical power in them and knock others away when they charge it, unless the power of the charge is greater than that of the defenders Force Field.

The Force Fields can be used hold an enemy in place, and stop them from moving, but only for short periods of time. They can also be used to take in any Element attack, e.g fire or water, which makes the shield stronger against that particular element, but it weakens the producer a considerable amount. The Force Fields can be used to hold someone in water and let them breath, blocking the water on the outside. The Force Fields can also be used as projectiles, though they only paralyze, they don’t hurt or kill unless used in defense.

There are several weaknesses in the Force Field power, the main one being that the Force Fields can be over powered by stronger people, and therefore fizzle out and disappear. They also can only be held for a certain amount of time, as they use up energy, they can leave people vulnerable if they run out of energy and the shield fizzles, causing them to be weak in open battle. A last weaknes is that the Force Fields are easily visible, if an attacker couldn’t actually see the defender but the defender put the shield up then they would have easily revealed themselves.

The power only changes the appearance of the controller slightly, the energy to form the shield comes out of the controller in bursts which keep it going, usually these come from the Hands, this causes the controller to sometimes become paler, and they have a blue light radiate from them when using the Force Field.


Appearance: Ben is 5ft 10, nearly 5ft 11, but just cutting it short and he is about 140-150 pounds in weight. He has quite an athletic build, but he is rather quiet. His clothing is stylish to an extent, but he gets himself muddy quite a bit. His eyes are a deep blue, which resemble his Force Fields greatly, and his skin is usually pale, and radiates slightly. His eyes have an almost eagle like quality, though they are most obviously normal. His hair is brown in colour, and is usually styled, and is beginning to gain small blonde streaks near the edges. His clothing almost always shows his personality, and that personality is usually a happy one, though sometimes he wears black. He has one scar, on his chest, though it is in the process of healing over and is nearly fully healed. His typical style of clothing is a black, or grey shirt and with an over jumper, usually green/ brown and checkered and on his feet he tends to wear converse or simple shoes. He can’t contain his emotional state with his appearance, and one glance is all it takes to see what mood he is in, though he does have a knack of holding in sadness, though this is not sustainable.


Personality: Ben’s personality is very varied, his clothes show them, but usually he is in a really good, or a really bad mood, and his mood changes quite a lot. He is very concealed, and secretive, he only lets some people in on his secrets, and the only people he does let in are his family, and very, very close friends, people that he sort of get’s along with aren’t allowed in on any secrets or his feelings at all. He can be quite a lover person, but yet again only with people he has a strong relationship with, but he can be a very nice person once you get to know him, he is very, sometimes overly, protectiv3e of his friends, and he uses his powers to protect close people, however sometimes in the attempt to do so he ends up hurting them more than he intended to defend them, he lost his younger brother that way and has never forgiven himself, and most probably never will, he is very hard on himself, and shouts at people when they say things aren’t his fault, because he strongly believes that it was his fault and sometimes his anger causes his power to happen when it isn’t wanted and he can hurt people in the process.


History: Ben grew up in England, with his parents and hid younger brother, James. His parents where thoughtful people and even though they knew something about him wasn’t right they still insisted in sending him to a normal school, at the age of 13 he began to get bullied at the school, and when one of the Bullies attempted a punch at Ben’s face, Ben hit back and a large Force Field exploded and sent the bully flying through the air, the rest of the group fled the scene, and Ben collapsed from the energy he had spent.

He awoke 3 days later at home with his mother stroking him gently. Several days passed and Ben was weak all he could do was stay at home, and wait for the day he got better, but his symptoms kept getting worse, the amount of energy used creating the shield had made his body deteriorate, and he was weak, he couldn’t move, eat, drink, anything. Until one day he felt the energy suddenly return to him, but on that very same day his father was murdered in the streets of London. This caused Ben so much anger, and he wanted revenge, though he had no idea who had killed him, so he ran away from home, though left a note telling his mother and younger brother. He spent many days searching, however nothing came up, he looked and looked, but not a single person showed up, but on one rainy night he turned to find his brother running at him.

Though Ben didn’t know that it was his brother, and therefore created a Force Field to protect himself, the power of the shield killed James instantly, and Ben sat for hours crying and morning for his brother. People tried to take him away from his body, but he wouldn’t budge. He put Force field after Force Field up to protect him and his brother’s body, but soon he was overpowered and dragged away.

Yet again he awoke weak and helpless, his body tingling from the energy spent, however this time he got stronger quickly, and he placed the energy on his hands, breaking the cuffs which held him down and then flung himself out of the window landing in the Themes, he made a Force Field to help him breath under the water, and since then he has been on the run, living in the wild. Escaping people bye encircling himself with the shield when they come after him.


RP Sample: His feet hit the ground, his head turned, looking this way and that way. They couldn’t be seen, but still Ben ran. His hands brushing against his side, he began panting in deep breaths, the wisps falling into the rainy air. “Come on…” He muttered slightly, before he turned down a small London alleyway. His eyes darted around, looking for a place of salvation, but he couldn’t find when that was when he turned and a brick wall lay in front of him.

Then the heavy footsteps came from behind him, in one last desperate attempt to save himself the 17 year old darted into the corner, but it wasn’t enough, he could hear them, then it happened, he placed both hands out in front of him, then the beam of water like shield appeared in front of him, the burst of light keeping it there shot from his hands. Then the sound came the Shield had come into contact with skin and all Ben could hear was a scream, and then he skulked off into the darkness. His eyes continued there pursuit of his surroundings, smoke had begun to rise from the area where he had just made the Force Field. His brain swelled up, his breathing became more frequent, and he was starting to go into the stages of passing out, his hands were still glowing the eerie white colour which he hated so much, until now, it had saved his life, however, he couldn’t control his ‘power’ yet, he was about to go.

The least he could manage was to get away from sight; he limped along the street, searching for the perfect place to collapse, a horrible sacrifice, if only there was a way to control this god damn power. His feet trundled along he entered another alley, this one darker than before then he sat on the ground, his eyes fluttered around his eye lids last, weak attempt to keep themselves open. Eventually they had given up their hopeless struggle and the darkness concealed him, he was unconscious leaning against the side of the alley, next to a small pile of rubble, he was at peace, regaining his energy, soon he would awake.
